Were Moving!!

This past Monday and Tuesday we got to spend some time at Chancellor High School, which will be our new location for weekend worship experiences. It is going to be incredible - the space is amazing and our capacity to reach Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania is going to be increased. "The larger the capacity the greater the opportunity"!

JOIN THE COUNTDOWN!!

Monday Reflections on Thursday

* FUN day on Sunday - Tammie and I team taught, she did a great job and was a natural.
* While it was fun it also felt odd. I couldn't put my finger on it, no major issue just felt odd.
* There is not enough money out there to pay the production team what they are worth. The computer crashed before the service but somehow they managed to transfer the files to a backup computer and have words on the screens for the first song - AMAZING!
* We had the red carpet rolled out for Mom's and we also gave them custom made chocolates as they left.
* The band introduced "Glorious God" - amazing song.
* We had 12 baby dedications on Sunday.
* My friend and groomsmen Matt was in town with his family - had a great time hanging out - they have an Owen to but I had the name first :)
* Both services were PACKED - this move to Chancellor High School couldn't have come at a better time.
* I am so blessed to do what I do!!
* Owen is the best!! He is now doing animal sounds like what does a dog and cat say. I love it!!
* It's been a year since my grandmother passed away - hard to believe!
* It's been a year today since Dr. Falwell passed away - that was a tough week for me last year. What's crazy is that the month prior I was at LU getting an award and Dr. Falwell and Granny met for the first time and then a month later they were in heaven together.

Drive Cont'd

Some great take aways:

"Become preoccupied with those you haven't reached as opposed to those you are trying to keep"

"Be a student not a critic"

"Pay attention to people who are breaking the rules"

"Acknowledge what's not working and own up to why you are not willing to do anything about it"

"Don't let success or momentum over shadow your vision, keep the vision out front"

DRIVE Day 2

I am continually amazed at the level of excellence that North Point displays in every little detail. The conference has been amazing with great content. A few take aways from the day:

Reward the behavior you want to see repeated.

Is there sideways energy being spent by your organization which distracts from the vision?

As the senior leader you must promote by example mutual submission.

What you say is secondary to what people see when they enter your organization. So make sure what they see is excellent.

This evening we took a road trip. 2300+ people left North Point and drove to their Browns Bridge campus about 20 minutes north. We had a cookout and then a performance by Jeff Foxworthy. It was hilarious!! Great evening of relaxing and having fun!!

Loving the conference and the time I am getting to spend with our team. We have an incredibly committed staff and volunteer team.

I miss Tammie and Owen - looking forward to getting back tomorrow night!!

We got it!!

Yesterday I was thrilled to announce to our church that we would soon be moving locations. This past Friday I got the call that we have been approved to move into Chancellor High School which has an auditorium which will seat almost 900 adults. I am so pumped.

A little over a month ago we ask our church to pray and seek God's face to open this door. What an awesome answer to prayer. I know this is going to take us to a whole new level in our ability to reach people who are far from God.

To God be the Glory!!

Monday Reflections

* AMAZING DAY yesterday - historical day! We baptized 61 people in two services, yeah you read that right 61!!

* Our volunteer team was amazing - they worked like a well oiled machine.

Historical Morning

I don't have the words to adequately describe what took place this morning. Let's just say we will look back and this will be a history making day for the Lifepoint family - I will post the details later.

On the road to DRIVE so I'm blogging from the iPhone - takes to long!

Jeremy's Son Update

Jeremy just posted an update about Wyatt!

9:40 Monday night

That's when I got a call from Jeremy to come over to his house immediately. I ran (literally, we are neighbors) over to his house to discover that Wyatt was having a seizure. The ambulance arrived within minutes and rushed him to Mary Washington Hospital and he was soon after that he was flown to Fairfax Hospital.

He is doing much better today and the doctors are very positive that he will be just fine.

Please keep the whole Pickwell family in your prayers!
